Hey Friends! I hope you had a great weekend! Just got back from watching kids I used to coach compete in their final competition of the year. I wanted to post this video my brother and I made from Narciso RodriguezFall 2011 Fashion show a few weeks ago. I really like how it turned out. It kind of has a hypnotizing effect... Well at least to me ;) I really hope you like it!
So, as I mentioned in the last post, one of my best friends Sean Cimino is in a band called "Foster the People". Well, I spent the day listening to their first EP. So I had to put one of their songs on this video. The painting is of Proenza Schouler Spring 2011 ads campaign. I don't know if you have seen the ads but they are truly beautiful. The second I saw the pictures I busted out a piece of paper and started sketching it. So I thought I would make a video for you all :) I hope you like it.
Ps If you have a Youtube Account and want to to subscribe to my videos, you can do so at http://www.youtube.com/user/Igorandandre. I'm trying to get a lot more Videos up soon. Thanks!
Hello Hello! How was your weekend? I saw a brilliant movie called the "The King's Speech". If you haven't seen it, go see it. It's such a moving movie. Loved it!
So I'm happy to present you with a new Speed Painting Video. As your remember, a month ago i started watching Hayao Miyazaki and i saw his movie "My Neighbor Totoro". The main girls in the English version of the movie were played by, at the time very young little sisters Elle & Dakota Fanning. I was blown way how amazing they were in that movie. And then recently, i stumbled across a beautiful editorial of Elle Fanning (not sure what magazine it was from). She has a really great look. She has a little bit of Gemma/Sophie Ward look going on, plus she was wearing a dress from Valentino's spring 2011 collection, and I thought she would be perfect in my pop culture series, so the other day i did this painting and made this video for yawl. I had to do some finishing touches on the painting, but will post it tomorrow! I hope you like the video!
So i finally made a video for the Collaboration i did with Caravan this last Fashion Week. I've been wanting to make this video for months now... The concept was to show the process form concept to being made. The Song is by a musician i just heard for the first time two weeks ago named Peter Broderick. His music is pretty amazing, and was a prefect fit for the vibe I wanted for the video. The Girls in the video are the lovely Kylie Bisutti & Chiara. I had a lot of fun designing the dresses and really like how they turned out. Thank you Claudine for letting me be involved :) I hope you all like it and hope you have a wonderful new years eve! ;)
Hey Friends, how was your weekend? Mine was great! My Family and i went Stand up paddle boarding today, and it was pretty fun. Also i finally finished Editing the video i shot at Rachel Antonoff's Spring 2011 Presentation! I'm really happy on how the video turned out. My goal was to create a video that captured the mood i felt at the presentation (which is pretty much the mood i feel 85.3% of the time... hah) the song in the video is from a group called "Slowblow". And this song has been one of my favorites for a while so i was so happy that it was a perfect fit for this video! Let me know what you think! I hope you like it! :)
Hey Friends! Hope you had a great weekend! So i know i posted this video about a year or so ago... But i just found it again looking through old videos that i did, and i thought i would post it again. :) The Video is Called "The Life of My Studio" and it was edited together off of random clips i shot in my studio, and the music is off of radiohead "string out" album. I hope you enjoy it :)
Hey Friends! Happy Friday! I know it's Inspiration Friday, So instead of posting images, i thought i would post this little motion Test i did today. I'm thinking of starting to direct little movie shorts & Music Videos... SO, i made this little special effects test today to see if i could pull off some ideas i want to do. I hope you like it :) The Music is from one of my favorite bands, Efterklang. Let me know what you think! Have a great day!
hahahhahahahahahahaha Well Alice Came over yesterday, so we decided to have some stop motion fun... haha We made 2 little shorts. The First one was a little Gumby Stop Motion Movie. and then the second was this Hide & Go Seek Short! haha i know it's random, but it was fun to make. Alice Styled the video, and we climbed up on the hill behind my house. Then we just went for it. hahah so ridiculous! I hope you like it. The song is by Jon Brion from the "I heart Huckabees" sound track
HAHAha, So Yesterday was my weekly or bi-weekly or maybe more accurately Daily Studio Cleaning day...i don't know about you... haha There is something refreshing about it. So i thought i would make a little video of the daily transformation for my Studio. I originally posted it on "Inside My Brain",But then i thought i should share it on here! :) I hope you like it! :)
Hey Friends, well i have some exciting news! Today, I was featured in Forever21's magazine. Also, the article mentioned a little something about a Little Collaboration i'm doing with Forever21!! :) I'm really excited about it. The Collaboration is still a little bit away from coming out. As far as the magazine, I did a few paintings for the "Alice in Wonderland" editorial. As I did the painting, I thought I would make a drawing processvideo for yawl. So this video was born out of it. It is crazy, I had to speed the video up 6,000 times faster! haha There is going to be a give away of my 2 limited edition prints of my paintings for F21. If you want to win one, click and enter in the give away.
Oh also, the song from the video was written by my really good friend Tim Frost. I stay with Tim & his wife Deanda every time i go out to Texas. But there is a cool story with the album. Tim wrote this album for his son, who loved Nintendo sound effects. So he wrote this full album inspired by video game sounds. Basically, it's completely brilliant, and is one of my favorite albums! The album's name is "Beadbox"! haa How awesome is that. I draw to this album all the time. He just put it up on itunes. If you want to buy it click here! Also, thank you so much to Elite Model Management for your post of my painting of Masha Kirsanova.
p.s. thanks for the formspring questions. i started the account to answer more personal questions than professional, if you have professional questions, email info@igorandandre.com . If you have questions, go to: http://www.formspring.me/DannyJRoberts
I just watched this video at AlexanderMcQueen.com and i Had to post it... He was my favorite and this is an amazing showcase of his work over the years... I hope you like it.
Hey Friends, How was your weekend? Mine was great! I went out of town to watch kids I used to coach compete in the state championships! It was so good seeing them do so well. :) Well, I got home yesterday and my best friend since i was in 4th grade sent me this Ben Harper song called "Power of the Gospel". This song was one of our favorite songs ever since we heard it on an old skate video. But this time around listening to it, all of a sudden something clicked, and i just thought "WoW! This song would be perfect for some of my NY Fashion Week footage." So I popped this Video out last night... Late last night.... haha There is something about this video that just feels like a perfect representation of our trip. I know it's super short, just a minute video, but I'm sure there are more videos coming as soon as i have time... that's why I put "Part 1" on there ;) I really hope you like it, and hope you're having a wonderful day.
Hello Friends! Sorry for the absence on the posts... I have a bunch of last minute deadlines, and i've been working night and day... I was supposed to fly to Texas today, but had to bump my flight to Tuesday cause of work... but anyways, how are you all doing? I thought I would post a new video... I've been working on ideas for different shows on the "Igor+André Channel" Motion Art is the name of the show for all the speed painting videos. I made this video of my painting of Bryanboy Front Row at Dolce & Gabbana. I hope you like it. :)
P.S. I hope you like the new "I+A" video player; it's really easy for reposting and embedding, just click that little dotted button>then click and an enbed window with the code will appear, cut and paste... and voila! You're done :)
Well, I'm excited to unveil the 5th Speed Painting Video. It's me paintingJulia FrakesBenefit Invite. I tried something a little different this time around. So, I picked out this genius song by Yann Tiersen, before i even started the drawing... Then i counted how many beats per minute there were in the song. Also, i broke the song up into 4 main parts. So then my goal was to try to create a visual that matched the music, which means i had to draw a line and then stop and take a picture, and so on... It was brutal, i'm not going to lie. haha Trying to pay attention to the drawing, and also counting how many pictures i had taken, so i could coordinate different mediums coming into the music.... Basically, this video was kinda crazy to make... but i really like how it turned out. Feel free to repost or embed the video anywhere you want ;) There are a lot of subtleties in this video which makes it fun to watch and re watch. I hope you like how this Stop Motion Video turned out. If you could help me get the word out about the video, that would be incredible! Hope your having a great day! I love you all so much! :)
Happy Monday, my friends. How was your weekend? Well, yesterday my brother and I went down to the Spectrum. We met up with a group of our friends and my brother, my friend Alice, and I ended up riding a Carousel!!! It was so fun. We ended up filming alot when we were on the Carousel :) I hope you like this minute little short film i made today from the ride. I think I'm going to take a little drawing break, cause i've been working nonstop, so i thought i would try some different kind of blogging this week. aka this video :) So how are you doing? What's your favorite Collection/Fashion Show this season?
P.S. If you have a pretty fast connection, watch the HD version... there's a big difference! ha
Hello Friends! I'm home! Finally! Sorry about the lack of blogging! My internet connection in New York was painfully terrible, to say the least! hah But now that i'm home, i plan on giving you a good, detailed review of the shows & trip, as well as having some drawings and paintings of the collections coming very soon! ;) Shoot! i have so much to tell you! But first things first... I put this video together for you. The video is a compilation of videos my brother and I shot during the last week. A few fashion shows featured in the video are Donna Karan, Siki Im, and Gerlan Jeans. I hope you like it. :) The music used in the video is from one of my favorite bands named "South". The song is off of the album "With the Tides" .
Oh yes! My friend, the beautiful and lovely Miss Gala Gonzalez has a little cameo in the video ;)
Hello my friends! How have you been? Well, i've been working all weekend. Been painting up a storm for some up and coming things... I wish i could show it... don't worry, all in due time. :) Well, i thought i would post this video of me making my giant Layered Illustration, cause i'm going to finally be showing it publicly for the first time this Friday at the Royal-T in Culver City. It starts at 7 p.m. Oh, and yes, i actually just got the huge thing framed!! haha Don't asked me how... like i said, my framer is amazing! Well, hope you like the video. If you're in Southern California Friday, stop by! i'm flying to NY the next morning, but the art will be up all week :)
Hello Friends! How are you? How was your weekend? Thank you all for all your birthday wishes Saturday! It was a wonderful 24th birthday! My family gave me the surprise gifts of gifts... It's an Old Russian 16mm Film Camera called a Krasnogorsk K-3. It's the camera my favorite director started out using. i never thought i would get one, and really didn't even know they knew how much i wanted it!. Thanks my family! Love you! ;) It was especially amazing cause i've been wanting to get a little more into directing films... so now i have to, huh? i've got a concept already for my first short film.. I'll let you know more about it when i'm ready cause i will probably need some help! hah ;)
Ok, so as a thank you to all of you for supporting me, i thought on my birthday, it's better to give than receive... So i made you all this video... This was my first time experimenting with my own version of Walt Disney's Mulitplane Camera. I felt like a Mad Scientist making this... My Studio is thrashed and it's so tough working on glass and using dimension... well, I hope you like it. :) Oh, the picture i drew was off of my sketch for the Series on Love.
Good morning! Good morning! It's all nice and cold right now, and i'm sipping on coffee! Woot woo! Feels pretty good. ;) Ok,so i reanimated this scene from my test animation. Here it is! Sorry there isn't more; i haven't had any time, but my goal is to finish it this summer. The music is something i wrote a little while back for this story. i hope it works out for the full animation, but not sure... Hope you're all doing great!
P.S. Thanks for sending me the pictures of you all wearing the shirts. It's been so fun seeing you all wearing the shirts from all over. Keep them coming! :)
Hello Friends! Did you all have a great day with your Mother's yesterday? I sure did. It was such a nice relaxing day. We hung out, watched Arrested Development & then later watched the old classic "South Pacific", which was my first time seeing it, and i loved it. i don't think they made any bad movies back then, it's so amazing.
Well, later last night i decided to make an extremely Quick Video for you all. I gave myself 10 minutes to begin and end the drawing, mostly because my camera can only record in 5 minute slots and also cause my chip was full at 10 minutes... haha But the drawing i did was of this great picture of Alix of the blog The Cherry Blossom Girl. For the sketch I drew with a sharpie on glass, and then painted with Acrylic after. I think i will be redrawing that picture in a few days on normal paper, not glass... so i will keep you posted. The Video is real simple; i hope you like it :)
